Jarod Root, OPA-C, LAT, OTC Mr. Root is Board Certified as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant and a state licensed Athletic Trainer. In addition to assisting the IOSM physicians with patient care, Mr. Root works closely with local public and private schools, athletic clubs, and local colleges to provide them quality sports medicine care. Mr. Root received his Bachelors of Science with a specialization in Athletic Training from Howard Payne University in 2003. Prior to arriving at IOSM, he was working at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas where he was recognized on NBC 5 and in the Dallas Morning News for his work with victims from Hurricanes Katrina & Rita, as well as receiving awards for his work performed there. He has been on numerous panel discussions on the topic of “The Usage of Athletic Trainers as Physician Extenders.” He acts as the athletic trainer for several professional athletes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who participate in action sports such as motocross, wakeboarding, BMX riding, and skateboarding. Mr. Root has appeared in Wakeboarding Magazine, FUEL TV, NBC 5 and other numerous action sports publications. Kathryn Womochel, ATC/LAT Ms. Kathryn Womochel received her Bachelors of Science degree in Athletic Training from The University of Texas at Arlington in December 2007 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from the same institution. She holds both her State Athletic Training License as well as her National Athletic Training Certification. She joined the DME Department at IOSM in September 2009. Her professional achievements include numerous publications, as well as local and national presentations on the topic of cryotherapy and intermuscular temperature. Ms. Womochel has also provided athletic training coverage at numerous sporting events including football, soccer, lacrosse, ice hockey, and marathons. |

Trina Garcia Ms. Trina Garcia joined IOSM in 2006 and has worked in both the physical therapy and DME departments. She specializes in workers compensation claims, insurance verification, marketing, and patient customer service.
